I’ve recently become so enamoured by this color blue. It is blue sky blue on a clear day. I don’t often paint skies, but I knew I wanted to use that happy blue. So I set up a still life of my favorite things to paint (flowers and reflections) on top of a sky blue scarf. The afternoon lighting on my deck was ideal for this. This first painting is all about the color flowing from one part of the canvas to another.

Artist Statement: I am inspired to paint when I feel a sense of sway. Sometimes it begins from listening to music, but it will often come from my own thoughts and what I see.
