Nantucket was a delightful part of my childhood. I went there every summer to visit my grandparents and my cousins. Sailing was a big deal too. My uncle had a "Rainbow" sailboat (aka Beetle Cat) that we sometimes sailed in the harbor. The boat is known to be easy to sail and the yacht club had a lot of them for the sailing school. This painting shows the "rainbow fleet parade" that has been a tradition for the past 18 years.

Artist Statement: I am inspired to paint when I feel a sense of sway. Sometimes it begins from listening to music, but it will often come from my own thoughts and what I see.
