I listened to the music of Dire Straits as I painted this. It felt very unifying. I loved the red spinaker and considered naming my piece "Red Spinaker", but as I finished up I enjoyed a song named "Portobello Belle". It is about a street in London where Mark Knopfler frequented, and in particular the beautiful women he would see there. This showy sailboat with it's classic lines and flowing red Spinaker felt like it could be named "Portobello Belle".

Artist Statement: I am inspired to paint when I feel a sense of sway. Sometimes it begins from listening to music, but it will often come from my own thoughts and what I see.
